The Lower Depths Tap Room

Craving Fenway Franks and an ice cold beer? This place is for you. Right on commonwealth ave you will feel like you’re at Fenway watching the sox. Granted the beer your drinking you would never find at Fenway, nor would any of these toppings on your foot long be offered at the stadium.  This unique bar has over 160 different types of beer in bottles with 17 seasonal drafts you’re bound to find something you like. They don’t serve any hard alcohol so if you’re not into beer this may not be the bar for you.

Their food is worth skipping a drink with dinner though.  Their menu consists of sandwiches, burgers, and of course hot dogs.  Being right within walking distance of Fenway if you don’t sell hotdogs you might as well relocate.  They out do their competition by putting their sides on top of the hotdog. Its all going to the same place so why not eat it all at once? I tried their White Trash footlong. This comes with beer cheese dip and potato chips on top… It was disgusting and amazing in one.

The crowd was mainly people in their later twenties and no one seemed to stay for too long. The size of the whole places was pretty small, but it wasn’t overly crowded when I visited on a Saturday night around 7. I could only imagine it would be busier during the summer nights rather than a chilly night in February.  They are conveniently a few doors over from the Kenmore train station.

Overall I would rate this bar as 8/10 and will definitely be returning in the near future.
